| Women have special health needs that change
with age. Naturopathy is a system of medicine that can help women
to improve and manage their health through every stage of the lifecycle.
A woman experiences significant phases of hormonal change from adolescence,
through pregnancy and motherhood and into menopause and older age.
At each of these phases, her hormones require support from the
rest of her body to function optimally, promoting hormonal balance
and reducing the susceptibility to illness or disease.
Kristin treats women of all ages to regain optimum health and
energy by confidently taking control of their hormonal and reproductive
lives. By attending ongoing practitioner education Kristin is able
to offer the very best, scientifically researched natural methods
for hormonal balance and fertility.

“A woman’s
health is the barometer of her environment. It is
moulded and shaped
according to her evolution in the womb and the social,
cultural and ecological environment of her childhood.
It is created out of her relationships, her joys and
traumas. It is grounded in the quality of her nutrition
and the purity of the air and water around her.”

restoring balance. Altern Ther Health Med. 2007

| The hormonal life cycle:
Adolescents
Young women have significantly different nutritional needs and may
experience different symptoms of hormonal imbalance than a woman
in her 30’s or 50’s.
Ensuring an adolescent's nutritional needs are met and hormonal
balance is optimised helps with problems such as period pain, skin,
weight or mood changes whilst also ensuring healthy bones for later
life.
Young women
A woman in her 20’s or 30’s may need help with stabilising
hormones, optimising fertility and preparing for pregnancy. There
may be areas she has struggled with for a long time, including period
pain, weight issues, changing diet and nutritional needs or emotional
problems.
It is also a time when women become more aware of hereditary factors
that could potentially affect their health in later life (or their
children's health) including bone density, diabetes, cardiovascular
disease and obesity.
Addressing the lifestyle factors that contribute
to these conditions is a step toward greater longevity and better
quality of life now and in older age. The health of a woman in her
40’s influences her experience of menopause in her late 40’s
or 50’s.
Older women
Natural medicine is also appropriate for older women. Menopause
signals a new phase of changes for women and many ‘common’
symptoms can be successfully managed using natural remedies.
Women may also start to "feel their age" with the beginning
of niggling problems that may worsen as they age if left untreated.
Arthritis, libido, energy levels, emotional stability, memory /
concentration and weight changes are common areas of change among
older women and can be supported with the help of naturopathic and
nutritional medicine.

"My PMT has disappeared and I feel a great
improvement in my overall health. My cycles are
now becoming more regular and by the second month
on the herbal mixture I had ovulated, and have done
so for the last 3 months.”

Rosemary leaf extract not only
helps promote the conversion of oestrogen to the ‘good’
type, but also inhibits the production of ‘bad’ (unbeneficial)
oestrogen, helping maintain healthy oestrogen ratios and improving
female health. |
